I read their policies and procedures as well as their reviews. Even the negative ones. I needed a car for my teen son. After looking around the LA area for ~ 2 weeks, I decided to go with Starfire. I FOLLOWED their directions, made an appointment (same day) and they pulled 2 cars for me and washed them up. Cars were as described & matched the on-line photos. David is a well spoken and very knowledgable salesman. He explained the reasoning for their procedures. We went over the CARFAX and discussed everything about the car. Zero pressure to buy. He does not even walk the car or go on the test-drive with you. You go at your own pace & you make your own decision. I would purchase from them again. Thank you David.

Just bought a car from here on 1/18/21. Car broke down and motor doesn't work in only a little over a month of use. Paid a little over $4,000. It was for my teenager that needed a car for work. I asked for the most reliable car within our budget. This one was the top most reliable they suggested. I'm very disappointed. I notified them and they sent me to reach out to some mechanics that know them and also a link to their website that says your screwed after you pay and leave and sign an as is. Of course I have to pay to get it fixed. I've been quoted 1600 for repairs. Do not buy a lemon. This place really screwed us. They have good reviews. Unfortunately for us we thought we did our research but it didn't go well.

This person bought a 15+ year old vehicle with 190k+ miles. We did not screw you, its simply the nature of a used car at this age at these miles that things CAN AND WILL GO WRONG. If you think "a little over a month of use" and its still our fault and we did you wrong, then we have to agree to disagree on what you find reasonable. To anyone reading this, if you think that a 190000+ mile that breaks a month after you bought it, and its the sellers fault, please spend your money elsewhere. We are looking for rational and logical buyers...

They sell lemons . They know , we know it . They acquire a car and sell as is and sell it for worth of a Great running car but once it’s off the lot it’ll blow. They blame their customers for this and shake their fingers that they didn’t get the $500 warranty . They “acted” really nice during purchase but after they’re monsters .

Not lemons, used cars with high miles, that yes...CAN BLOW AT ANY TIME. Buy the warranty or buy a newer car with lesser miles. At the end of the day, whenever you're buying a car in the sub $5000 range, you WILL inherit a risk. Just like back in the day when people bought a used TV from the thrift store. Its used. It might work great at the store, but when it stops working a week later, it isn't the stores fault...its a USED PRODUCT. Buy the warranty, shop elsewhere, but whatever you do, don't blame the dealer that's telling everyone loud and clear that these older cars with higher miles you have a 100% guarantee that a certain percentage of them will have issues pretty much immediately after purchase. Are you in that percentage? That's between you and the universe. If you do not understand this concept, then you're part of that "age of outrage" culture that seems to be growing like wildfire. We had a very positive experience at Starfire Auto. We followed the instructions given on their website and made an appointment. I received a text to confirm time and date. When we arrived we weren’t rushed and given plenty of time to test drive the car. Paperwork didn’t take much time. Very happy with my purchase.

Drove 1.5 hours to buy a car. Literally broke down on freeway 20 minutes after purchase. My 19 yr old following me on 5 north and transmission starting jerking. My kid scared to death to even try to call me while driving. The bluetooth would not connect. Luckily I needed gas and she followed. Car would not engage in reverse ect.... Why would I be upset? Now I am not blind to the risks of buying used older cars. Done that many times. Trying to help my child out on this one. I called of course. Abe essentially told me we knew what we were buying and getting into. Sure, any used car purchase. We established that. I don't know what I said, being pissed. Don't believe I crossed a line. SERIOUSLY, you offer nothing. You can't stand behind your business and do the right thing 20 minutes after taking $5600 of my kids hard earned money. Or ANYBODY else for that matter. She is leaving for college too people. leave us stranded out of town with a xxx that could not even get 20 miles down the road. REAL CLASS ACT ESTABLISHMENT. My wife called too. when she got Abe on the line and introduced herself he abruptly cut her off. Told her it does not matter what she says. He said even though car was not driveable, the papers were signed and as soon as the car touched two wheels off his lot we are married to it now. If it disinigrated it would not matter and it is not his problem. Abe, you Sir are a true gentleman..

We are unique in the fact that we have no less than 2 sections on our website that tell you known issues with certain cars. This customer bought a car that has a KNOWN defect. Its all over the internet, our website, the description. They acknowledged they "knew all about it". Bought the car anyway. Signed TWO pieces of paper stating they know the car is as is with all faults. More over, the part that's most likely defective (a transmission control module, from Ford), is UNDER WARRANTY FROM FORD. Most likely this is the problem, and we said look its got nothing to do with us, take it to Ford. Under no circumstances will we issue a refund, ESPECIALLY not when you have been told about the car's issues, bought it anyway, AND confirmed basically 4 times that you know its a bad car but you're choosing to buy it anyway. That's called an adult decision that we have no remorse for. Yes it broke "20 minutes later". That's 19.99 more minutes that we told you it might last. IT WAS AS IS AND WITH A KNOWN ISSUE. Not sure how many different ways to say it. Basically, some people roll the dice because they want the newest car they can afford, even though our recommendation is to buy an older, more well known reliable car. But they bought this kind of car anyway and now its our fault? People don't realize that these 1 star reviews actually help us. Anyone reading this, if we tell you the car has a bad reputation, and you buy it anyway, BEST OF LUCK TO YOU, YES, 100%, you are on your own if it breaks. That's not unprofessional, in our opinion, we have done the best we can. You just didn't listen, you have to live with the consequences.

Buying a car from these guys is like buying a car from your favorite uncle. They will tell you what is wrong with it but won't sell you a ticking time bomb. You get what you pay for and the prices are very fair (compare their rock bottom pricing to large dealers and smaller independent dealers). Their NO NONSENSE approach saves everyone involved a lot of time. You are better off buying used four times from here than getting killed on depreciation from a new vehicle. Thanks Abe!!!

I am so grateful to both Abe & Kay for helping me through the process of buying my mother a safe/reliable car. After making an appointment with them (through the website) and discussing what I had in mind, Abe guided me in what he professionally thought was the best choice for her. Kay assisted me with getting all of the paperwork and financial matters taken care of discretely so that I could return on a different day and surprise my mother. As you can see, she really had no idea except that we were browsing for cars, until I handed her the keys. The personal service & patience with me was amazing as they truly cared to help me with my situation. I never felt rushed, the pricing of the car was very reasonable and the car is great! I do not think I would've had this experience if I went elsewhere to shop around for other used cars.
