Great car buying experience
It was great working with Clayton at TJ Chapman. He was knowledgeable and very professional. He provided a great car buying experience for my son and I. Thank you! Jerry
Rudest salesman, worst customer service
I called the dealership to inquire about a truck my husband saw online. I spoke with the salesman by the name of Saul. He was the absolute worst person to me on the phone, I had finance questions and he treated me like absolute dirt. He continuously told me that I needed to have my husband call. And was not honest about Banks requirements not knowing that I had already been pre-approved through the exact Bank he claimed they work through. By the end of our conversation he was speaking over the top of me wouldn't answer any of my questions and was rushing me off the phone insisting my husband take care of everything. The worst customer service I've ever experienced with the exception of CenturyLink. I immediately told my husband he needed to find a different truck because I wouldn't get a vehicle from this company if they were giving it away. And after reading other reviews I really think Sol's attitude help me dodge a bullet. I will never do business with this company in this lifetime.
Scam Artists
Only resign its one star is because there's no half a star. One of the WORST experiences Ive ever had with purchasing a vehicle. All said and done 91K on a truck that Tj Chapman himself was personally driving the truck prior to purchase and apparently ragged it out pretty well. Chris Drakos essentially said "F*xx Off" when I called them out on selling me a truck with a broken window, chips in the windshield, chips in the paint, next to no oil in the engine and then had the gal to say "sorry our cameras are just that good you couldn't see the flaws. This company initially boasted about their out of state sales policy with how they disclose ALL flaws via FaceTime and or pictures, this NEVER happened and in fact Chris mentioned their employee was fired over this incident. To disclose that info is pretty unprofessional but after voicing my concerns with their actions, not very surprising. This truck was advertised with no flaws, no flaws were disclosed and the price tag reflected that, however once it showed up... different story! I would highly recommend staying away from this company and watch out for Chris Drakos and TJ Chapman himself. I will thank Shauna for trying to make things right but TJ and Chris wouldn't allow it. Rachel Hoffman, only reason why I am typing this is because you invited me to leave my comments...
Beware!
Beware, they tried to pull a "Bait and Switch" with me! Contacted dealer through Cars.com, negotiated a deal with the car. We agreed to $33K and $33,900 with doc fee and shipped to my house. Went through dealers finance option, got approved, and was about to sign the purchase agreement when I noticed it was the wrong car! It was same model but the one they tried to swindle me on has a salvage title and 10K more miles! When I confronted him on it, he tried to blame it on me, that I inquired about the wrong car. That is until I sent him the email from the his dealership with the right car including price, pictures, and VIN number! I sent screenshots of our texts proving the agreed upon price and what was all included in that price! Then he had no excuse, didn't even try to offer an excuse, he just said the gentleman I was working with conveniently "no longer works for the company" which doesn't explain how they switched cars and tried to slide it past me? They knew it would be too late for me to do anything once they shipped it all the way to my house, very unethical if not illegal! They did come back with a counter offer though, $3K more than the original agreed amount and sold "as is" with no warranty! Of course they won't reply now and are not willing to make it right, or even negotiate, just ignore you and hope you go away. I would steer very clear of a company who would do this either purposely or by accident, and not even offer anything to make it right! Even the finance guy couldn't believe they did this and were so unconcerned by their "mistake". Poor and unethical business practices, buy from here with extreme caution!
Highly recommended
I recently bought a car from this dealership. I flew in from Phoenix to buy a car and drive it home. But before i did i had many questions. Roarke my salesperson and Chris the finance person where very helpful and answered all my questions. They picked me up personally from the airport. The car was parked right in the front for me to test drive it to make sure it was to my liking. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Highly recommend them.
Great So Far
Purchased a 2019 Ford Expedition Limited with a salvaged title with 14k miles on it. Only viewed it via online walk through pics. Got a great deal and it was delivered quickly and looked as great as it did in the pictures. Roarke Blundell was our sales person and made the process easy. I will be checking them out for a truck next year for sure.
NO WAY!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY
Contacted dealership about vehicle and was told to send pics as I was out of state. Sent requested info never received word back from them. Fiance followed up with them and they claimed they would contact me yet no one ever did. Poor customer service and after seeing others taken advantage of I am sooooo glad they ignored me.
I got 2020 Honda Pilot from them.
So I got 2020 Honda Pilot ex-l with 438 miles. I called them and they were willing to pick me up from Airport, but when I did repairs inspection I called out multiple things, they couldn't do anything on price because it's not their car, but they were selling for someone else. There is a problem with Honda Pilot in 2018-2020 with screen and audio computer. They have two recalls, I took it to dealer to get those done, but it didn't fix the problem. So what exactly is the problem? 1. As soon as you start the car you may hear clicking noise in all speakers. 2. Audio plays with interruptions. 3. Audio screen goes out, completely black. 4. Main screen with all the gages goes out, so don't even know how fast you are going... Then it will restart. But couple times had to unplug battery for the main computer to be reset. But this is about the car that I got and it has almost nothing to do with this dealer, because it's factory fault. Now I'm looking to buy a truck from the same people I got my Pilot from...
Unethical business practices
In my world, a signed contract and a handshake mean a lot, plus it's actually pretty binding. We literally had a signed purchase agreement with TJ Chapman. We bought a car and wanted to take the car home that night but there were a few items that needed fixed. They suggested leaving it there so the work could be fixed by their mechanic. Two days later I call to check on the work and was told they sold the car to someone else who offered more money. I had given them half of the money up front and they said to give them the rest when we picked up the car. Their only response was "sorry, we sold it to someone else who paid a higher price." Wow, that just seems like poor business practice to me. So, lesson learned, don't trust TJ Chapman Auto and their unethical business practices where apparently bottom line is more important than a handshake and a contract.
Terrible
The fact that they deleted my review twice from google, says a lot about this dealership. 2 days after buying a 2019 Crosstrek from here, I had a major gas leak while driving in the freeway. I took the car to my closest mechanic right away and he said I was lucky it didn’t catch on fire. This is very scary as I had my 3 month old baby with me in the car. A couple weeks later the brakes went out as I was pulling out of my driveway, granted the car is a rebuilt title. 2 mechanics have now told me this car should have never passed the rebuilt title inspection. There’s so many zip ties and tape under the hood. I would have hoped that a dealership would inspect a car before buying it, this tells me this dealership does not and they don’t care about the safety of their customers. I am now terrified of driving this car, especially with my baby in it.
