When you buy a used car it is "buyer be ware." However, I expect to have to exercise a little less caution when buying from a reputable dealer, who typically informs you that their used cars have passed a rigorous inspection prior to sale. I bought a used car from this dealership and then when their sister dealership (took it to them for Ford Recall item) did their courtesy inspection, informed me that a tie rod was at a critical stage of breaking. Informed the dealer where I purchased the vehicle from 30days ago, expecting maybe they would be willing to work with their sister dealership (who they had sent me to in the first place). They informed me it was not covered by their ninety day warranty and it was my problem. I asked why a wear and tear item wasn't caught by them, and they said it "must have been a pothole I hit, or the other service Dept was just trying to make money." So much for a rigorous inspection prior to sale. This was the second but last car I buy here.

Just purchased a new XC60 from west county Volvo. Tim Edwards was excellent to work with! He consistently kept my financial goals in mind as he searched for my perfect car. Once chosen Tim made sure that my new car was ready for me to hop in and leave right when the papers were signed. Tim is patient, kind and honest which made him easy to work with through the car buying process. The experience was focused, simple and haggle free.

Tom Calkins is a rock star. Amazing knowledge and super helpful with all aspects of the buying process. Drove off with an xc60 and im extremely happy with my whole experience. If you are in the market for a new Volvo, go to West County Volvo and ask for Tom Calkins.

Courteous, responsive and knowledgeable salesman with ‘service’, not ‘sales’ in mind! He made sure car was ready as requested in a window of time, which included an airport pickup in rush hour. Follow up was astute and helpful, even enroute home (a 3 hour drive in a new automobile).

Tom Calkins is the BEST auto salesman I have ever encountered. He found us a XC60 T6 in excellent condition with low mileage. He helped us negotiate a fair deal with Sam Bruen AND he worked with Matt Iglehart to help us get the best rate!! If you’re ever in the market for a new or used Volvo, I would highly recommend contacting Tom at Suntrup West County Volvo. He’s the BEST!!!

New XC90 new rotors/brake pads less than 8k miles

At this service appointment, my 2018 XC90 (with less than 8,000 miles) had the rear brake pads and rotors replaced. I received four different answers as to why a new car could possibly need new brake pads and rotors from the four people I spoke to about the issue - one which even said it was due to my poor driving habits (I have been driving for 20 years and have never had any issues with brakes - actually my last new car didn't have the brakes replaced until about 80k miles). Your email for this survey states: "At Volvo Car USA we are passionate about providing you with the highest quality of product and customer service". Based on my experience, this is far from accurate.

Purchase of 2017 VOLVO V90 CC

This V90 CC is, without a doubt, the best vehicle I have ever owned. It is solid, quiet, easy to drive, and comfortable for short trips or long distance driving. Gas mileage is typically in the low 30's on long trips and this vehicle holds the road beautifully. I like the roominess of a wagon for the times when I have unusually large loads. However, I was not even considering a wagon until my sales person, Tom Calkins, suggested I test drive one. Tom took the time to provide several options for me to consider until I found exactly the vehicle that fit my needs. I heartily recommend Tom and the West County dealership.

I was interested in getting a smaller sedan and wanted something closer to home having my car serviced. I had walked into the West County Volvo on a whim (really on my way to somewhere else) looking for a very specific car. I really wasn't expecting them to have EXACTLY what I was looking for...it had to come off of a lease, a specific exterior and interior color with specific amenities that I had grown use to in my near luxury domestic that I traded-in. Lo and behold...it was the ONLY car in the lot that met those specifications and it was as though it fell out of the sky just for me!!! We had to have a loooong afternoon discussing price and trade-in value but we eventually had a meeting of the minds that was mutually acceptable. Owning a European car is more expensive to maintain than Japanese or American vehicles. But the feel and experience is far worth it and the stereo system is phenomenal...surpasses anything I've had previously.
