I needed service on a Saturday. My current Volvo dealership does not provide weekend service and has no one to field service calls. My car was showing "Urgent Red warnings"on the dash. First, I was impressed that I could chat with an agent online to determine my needs. Not only did the chat agent determine my needs, I was given Dan Kitchell's name and direct phone #. Dan gave his recommendations over the phone and scheduled my car for service on Monday. Dan and his service team provide the best service I have ever received! They provided a loaner car and Dan directly delt with my warranty company to get repairs covered. I live further from this service department, but it is worth the drive. I am switching to this dealership's service department for all of my future needs. The level of personal service far outweighs the connivence of geography.
Our Volvo had a recall and our regular dealer could not handle it for various reasons. We turned to West County Volvo and received service and attention beyond any we might have imagined. Their valet picked up our car 70 miles from their shop, serviced it, and returned it completely clean, disinfected and in excellent order. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, efficient and competent. I would not hesitate to buy an automobile here.

Tom Calkins and the Suntrup Volvo family go above and beyond for their customers! This is my second car and won’t be my last from them!
2019 XC90 - Our 4th Volvo
We absolutely LOVE our new XC-90 and Suntrup West County Volvo! Tom Calkins and the entire team are polite, professional, and a blast to work with. We always feel like family there and have never left dissatisfied with our experience. My family will continue to buy cars and have our cars serviced there. We are a family of 10, so Tom and West County Volvo get 20 thumbs way up. Thanks again for everything! The Helvey Clan
I special ordered a Volvo XC40 T5 AWD Inscription from Tom Calkins and the buying experience was seamless. Tom was very knowledgeable and helped me build an absolutely beautiful car. While I’ve only had the car for a week, I can say that this is the best car I’ve ever owned. The XC40 is packed with many advanced features and world class safety systems. My favorite so far is the 360 Surround View Camera. Makes parking in tight spaces so much easier! I’m looking forward to taking a road trip and seeing everything this car has to offer.

It’s our family’s eighth car from Tom Calkins and you could not ask for a better sales experience. He is the BEST. Period.
On the evening of December 22nd, Our 2011 XC60 was towed by AAA to West County Volvo garage for repair. We knew it needed as a minimum a new battery as the battery shorted out, but the alternator was checked out (by AAA) and it indicated no problems with the alternator and electrical system. On the 23rd I received a call from Volvo service) stating that it in fact the auto needed a battery before any other diagnose (?) could be accomplished. However, the AAA tech checked out all systems with one electronic meter while it was attached to the “shorted battery” with the car running. I can understand Volvos’ thorough diagnose of any problem. However, Why was I charged for two separate actions ($77.50-battery test) and an additional ($77.50 for the remainder of the electrical system). With any auto shop the battery/electrical test is normally part of the battery cost. On top of that we were charge $225.00 for the battery. Checking around the battery charge and diagnose on the high end should be in the neighborhood of $150-$200 retail. I am aware that dealerships normally charge a higher price because of higher profit margin(?) or (???), but I believe that a dealership should be aware of customers thoughts in the maintenance costs. The entire bill for a battery and service at Volvo was $442.50. This is an exorbitant price and makes one have second thoughts on the next Volvo to be purchased and especially from this dealership. As I mentioned to the service manger that we are in the market for a new auto as we normally purchase a new car every 100,000 to 120,000 miles. Of the 4 autos (SUVs) we are considering, Volvo was first on the list, now it is 4th. That is mainly because of the above experience and other Volvo owners we spoke with. However,I suggest that they at least remove the sign that states complimentary car wash with any service or words to that affect. Our auto was not washed. So buyer beware when interfacing with this dealership.
Staff was helpful and knowledgeable. No sales pressure. Facility was being renovated so a bit dusty inside.
The service department at West County Volvo has always been thorough and personable, but Dan Kitchel put extra effort into solving a problem I had beyond the routine maintenance issues. Would highly recommend this dealership.
Not good service
The folks at this dealer fall short across the board. Once they sell you a car you are on your own. The service department is overworked. The facilities are sub par. It is like a bad Ford dealership.
