False advertising / crooks

by RC on Feb 20, 2021

This isn't the only place doing it, but that doesn't make it ok. It is unethical (and probably illegal) to show a price on cars.com with specific features and photos and then charge 9k more for "add-ons" that aren't optional. The worst part though is that I called and spoke with Kate to find out specifically if they had these hidden fees for lift kits and premium tires on Jeeps and she assured me they did not-what you see online is what you pay. That was unfortunately a lie. When I talked to the young man at the lot today about this practice, he said "everybody does it...that's what makes it fun to sell cars". I hope he and others like him can find "fun" elsewhere. Really disappointed to have spent 2hrs driving on my birthday to see their vehicles. Steer clear and I encourage everyone who agrees this is unethical and likely illegal to contact their local elected officials to go after predatory dealerships like SC Car Zone. This is why Carvana, Vroom, and Shift exist.

Scam artists

by Brian carr on Feb 17, 2021

This place is a scam. False advertising all over it. They add in stupid xxx fees that will nearly double your price. I'm looking into to legal issues with this company possibly. Stay away. They will make you loose your money. They also sold me a jeep that is full of rust and caked with dirt from Hawai. They have ignored all my messages. I'll give them one star, just for the fact they are solid con artists Also, big shout out to the employer Jay who said "we take real care of out veterans here at SC auto". It's actually the complete opposite. I blame myself for falling for their tricks. Got caught up in a the new car thing. Basically, they will say a car is in stock. Usually a cbepaer one. You will come in to look and they will say someone just bought it. (xxxxxxxx). So you get hooked on another one. Then they will tell you the online price doesn't include any of the add ons. (false advertisement). It's just to get you in the door. If you decide you like a vehicle, they will crunch numbers and not actually tell you the legit break down. They will probably add on about 14 k more. For xxxxxxxx interior and exterior coverage. Which they will quickly skim that so they hope you don't catch it. Then add a dumb asa GPS for 1500. Quickly have you sign (should have known better). Then boom, you are screwed and got ripped off. This company probably won't be in business long. They promise 90 days no payment, 3 day back guarantee no questions asked. And fake prices online. Literally it's all a lie.

Bait and Switch - Isn't ta\hat Illegal?

by John Q. Public on Jan 16, 2021

I went to look at three Jeeps listed from 22K to 27K on cars.com. I confirmed the prices and drove the 45 miles to see them. Then the gal told me that all of the Jeeps I looked at have a $8,000 additional charge. xxx? "But hey big guy, come look at this one, once we get you in the office we will make a deal". These guy give used car dealerships a bad rap. And Bait and Switch is Illegal. Criminals in my opinion.

by CasrFan on Jan 07, 2021

Be careful, they advertise low prices but then they add $4000 in extra fees. Plus they want you to come in the store and won't disclose what the $4000 are for. I thought that was illegal in California...
