Contacted about a vehicle. Filled out credit appt and emailed pics of trade vehicle. Credit was ran thru credit bureaus and then dealer “ faded to black”. No communication , no asking for deposit, nothing. 5 hours later I get an EMAIL stating the vehicle had been sold to someone who “ wrote a check for it”. Well, they ARE only a 3 1/2 star dealer. I Should have known better. Now I’m left with a ding on my credit history. THANKS Perkins and shoddy salesperson Stephen Diamond !!

Bait and Switch Pricing from No Haggle Dealer

Dynamic pricing for a dealer who advertises “no haggle/hassle” pricing. Could be premeditated. What they do is list prices on external sites (like cars.com) for long periods of time which are lower than a salesman can agree to accept without calling his bosses bosses boss. That lower pricing gets the customer to come in, test drive, and then when you sit down to discuss “out the door” costs and financing, they show you the real price on their website, which in my case, was $1,000 more than advertised here for the same stock # vehicle. It was literally explained to me that their pricing is fixed and firm but varies like the stock market. The owner, Mr. Perkins, goes on their internal website and changes prices of vehicles when he sees demand rising or falling. Thats the only price the stores can accept. I was told “Unfortunately Mr. Perkins but might not be checking to confirm all external sources of advertising are also updated”. Can’t make this xxxx up. Concerns with a vehicle I was prepared to buy was immediately dismissed instead of investigated or resolved to make the sale. Their solution is to find another similar vehicle from another Perkins store to start the process all over again. A great motto for this store is “meh, maybe the next guy won’t notice”. Wish there was a way to get a great deal from an auto dealer who was not determined to live up to your worst auto dealer stereotypes.

We put our best price on each of our vehicles from day one to lead the market. Of course, being market based pricing, there are times when the price will be reduced (to continue to lead the market) and occasionally, if our analytic tools call for it, the price may be raised. In cases such as your own, if a customer comes in on the same day that the change has occurred but the websites haven't reflected the new price (it can take a few hours) we make sure you get the lowest price. Just as we did when you were here; again, we are for serving you. Having 5 dealerships and over 800+ vehicles in inventory we want to make sure you get the vehicle you want. So we offered to have a few comparable vehicles transferred here at no cost to you so you could compare them side by side. We are still more than happy to do so for you. First off I hate shopping & the thought of buying a vehicle made me sick & complete dread! I started by going online to local dealers to see what was on the lots, I can’t stand haggling & I knew what I wanted to spend. Went to Perkins & wasn’t surrounded by vultures, laid back experience & such an easy process. Sean was great to work with!! I’ll return to this lot every time I have to purchase. Hoping my new one last me another 10 years :) I highly recommend Perkins!

I have already bought two vehicles from them and am planning to purchase my third. Each time, the experience had been nothing but top notch. Both vehicles were delivered to me from our of town and the salesman was ultra-responsive via email, text, and phone. Each time, I knew what the cost of the vehicle would be out the door before ever stepping into the dealership. Never wasted one second in the "let me talk to my manager" game. This is the way car buying should be!
