I took my truck into the David McDavid dealership for them to fix an electrical problem with the A/C Control module. Cesar was the customer service rep and he was polite and hospitable and basically doing his job. I have an issue with the service dept and the company Mechanical Protection Plan that would not cover this repair although it is a simple fix if you have the right part. They would not honor the claim but instead the dealership was going to charge me $1075 just to replace it which is laughable. I just hate the fact that I spent good money for a warranty that turned out to be completely pointless and why they would charge so much for such a simple repair.

I was shopping for a new Ford Explorer and was using the Sam's Club buying program. I was contacted by McDavid Ford . The price quoted to me seemed to be quite good - too good to be true . I was then told the price was only good for cars financed through them. The cash price would be more . I asked them to work me up a cash price including my trade in. When I received the quote , it was significantly higher. To top it off , the trade in offer was $ 3 - 5000 less than other dealers offered . I told them this , asked to redo the quote showing the price with a revised trade offer showing the financed price. When I finally got this , the price of the vehicle was same , only the trade in value was changed . When I called them on this , they made excuses, said it must be a mistake , etc.... AND NEVER GOT BACK TO ME LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD . I was very disappointed in my recent dealings with the sales staff and the lack of honesty , transparency , and integrity. I guess if I had bothered to read the reviews of this dealership online I would have realized it was the norm rather than the exception

What a bunch of baloney. Anyone who reads these reviews and sees your responses can tell these are basically cut and paste items . If you really cared , then you would change the way you do business . The fact is that your dealership consistently receives some of the lowest ratings for a good reason. Frankly , I can't see a reason for anyone to buy from you when there are so many better options in the DFW area. Its a wonder you are still in business.

Bad New Car Sales Experience

Sat down to negotiate on a new car and buy that day if all went well. Very fist thing said to me was I had to finance though Ford at a very high APR. I replied with no thank you I have a good rate with my bank. Then I was told "sorry, come back if you change your mind". Laterally no negotiation, just a demand in the fist 3 minutes with no willingness to talk other options.

We bought a used 2017 platinum expedition On oct 31 and still no permanent car tags. We traded in a platinum beautiful Cadillac and the salesman Jose wouldn’t go down on vehicle he said he was only making $100 commissions on it. I asked who would show us the the only thing he knew how to do was fold down seat and mirrors. We asked for 2nd key he said we’d have to buy it but no worries way less than $100! Liar it cost $176. We feel very upset with this dealership! I should of just flown to Florida like my son asked he owns 3 dealerships there ! But my husband wanted this truck. Here it is pushing feb and no tags yet! Don’t go here and don’t deal with Jose

Craig Marquis was beyond bad. I sent an email request to check if a truck was in stock. He replied and said that it was. When I asked him to send the window sticker, he asked me which truck! Should have been my first clue. Typical slimy car sales tactic--just get you to come in at any cost. I drove over an hour because he did confirm the truck was in stock. He even sent me an unsolicited email pointing out that they have no dealer ad ons like other dealers in DFW. Price on the website is what you pay. We got there and went outside to find the truck. It had a lift kit with custom wheels and tires. Right on the windshield was a markup of $13k. His response was - well, this one is lifted and has wheels and tires. Thank you, Captain Obvious. How was I supposed to know that before I drove that far--especially after he pointed out that they have no dealer add ons! I told him this was exactly the kind of deception that I was trying to avoid. Once again, the master of the obvious told me that this wasn't starting out very well. He then told me that he didn't think he wanted to sell me a truck. At that point, his desire or lack thereof wasn't part of the equation--I wasn't going to entertain buying from him. Please heed the other reviews here. Typical experience with a DFW car dealer. Do yourself a favor and find a dealer out of the Metroplex to buy from--that's exactly what I did.

Absolutely the worst car buying experience I ever had!! Stay away from them!! The sales manager Eddie hands down provided the worst customer experience ever. - They took 5 days until they sent paper work out , claiming they wanted to check the mileage on the car. 5 Days to check Mileage?? - I scheduled transport to pick up car, transport gets there & the dealership had lost the keys to the car I purchased. - They did get another key made but only 1! A car is supposed to come with 2 Keys. No matter who I spoke to there or even their corporate owners, Asbury Automotive Group, they refused to buy 2nd key for me & again they were the ones who lost them. I will never buy a car from them or any dealership associated with Asbury Automotive Group. Again stay away!!

I bought a used F450 from these guys in August. I was promised new tires and brakes when I went to receive my truck, they took my money but no new tires or breaks. I had to threaten them with a lawyer to get my tires and I still had to come up with over 600 bucks to get them and never did get new brakes! Now after several months, I find out that they did not do a state inspection and I can not get my plates without one. No big deal if I were close to texas, but I am not and do not plan to be for another 6 months. Their solution - dive back to Texas get an inspection, and then I can get the plates, I paid for an inspection when I bought the truck! Now they want me to drive over 3000 miles on my own dime to get what they did not do. DO NOT EVER DEAL with these people!!!!

Mr. Bertschy: thank you for responding to me. I have tried to call you several times with no luck in getting through. Perhaps you can help me with getting the plates for my truck? I can not and am not going to drive over 3000 miles to get a state inspection when I already got one and paid for one when I bought the truck. Not to mention that drive without the plates is illegal. You guys should have some type of record that you can send over to the DMV so that they will release my plates. You can contact me at prestoncasey@gmail.com Thank you in advance Preston Casey

If you're smart, you'll go somewhere else. I'd give them a -5 rating if I could. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Found a pre-owned Ford Platinum truck and worked out a final price and they sent me the paperwork to sign. Salesperson kept pushing me to finance with them. I said that I had my own bank financing. I lived out of state but my bank has offices in Houston and Dallas. I told the salesperson that I would provide everything to my bank and pick up the check in Dallas on the way to the dealership. That wasn’t good enough. I have exceptional credit and my bank is very reputable. My bank was going to provide me with a certified check and letter of guarantee. What more could McDavid possibly need? Still wasn’t good enough. You need to finance with us blah, blah, blah. That should have been a really big red flag for me! My bad! Next thing you know, the salesperson is telling me that someone else is looking at the truck. Right…. She says that the other buyer lives in Texas but wants to use their own bank as well but were being told the same thing as I was – need to finance with us. Salesperson then says that per the sales director, whoever gets their financing done first gets the truck. So now it’s become a race?? A game?? I had already been screwed out of a truck at a dealership in Tampa, FL (stay away from Jerry Ulm!) and I didn’t want to lose another vehicle so I agreed to play the game. I filled out the credit application and waited. I received a text from the salesperson asking me when I could be in Ft. Worth to pick up the truck and I told her that I’d be there by lunch time the next day. Radio silence. So, I ask: “do I have a truck to pick up?” Radio silence again. Then she tells me, the sales director is now saying that whoever made the offer first gets the truck.” Wait a minute!! You told me an hour ago that whoever got the financing done first got the truck!! Now you’re changing the rules in the middle of the game??? Unbelievable!! Then I asked the $64,000 question: who got their offer in first? Naturally the response was the other buyer. I called total BS!! I’d bet my last dollar that they picked the offer where they made the most money but I had no way to prove it. I still have all the text messages from this sham if you need proof. The fact is, they don't care about the customer. They don't care who they sell to. All they care about is the sale. My advice to you is to run far, far away from this dealership!! They are very unprofessional and cannot be trusted. Don't get caught up in their web of lies and deceit! BUYER BEWARE!!!

Worst ever experience. They sold the car on Saturday and threatening us in two days to pay more on down payment or return the truck.they were thinking we might end up paying them more down payment. They are here to just make money they don’t have ethics, morals. They took truck back in two days but never refunded down payment and also did not allow us to take our things from truck. They also took gooseneck ball. I don’t think they have intention of returning it either. Stay away from them in any situation. Because entire dealership works as gang. All the comments by their managers saying that call us we will fix it, all lie. In fact they are the one who approves all these xxxxty tactics and cheating customers is their expertise.

Prashant, we are disappointed that we could not come to an agreement on a deal. Once the bank conditions were made, we provided you with the options to move forward with the purchase, however you became belligerent and threatened our staff because you didn't like those options given by the bank. At that point, we felt it was best to terminate the deal. It was then sent to the accounting team to refund the check that was going to be used as a down payment. We value our customers, but we also reserve the right to turn anyone away that may compromise the safety and integrity of our staff. Thank you for your interest and good luck.

You guys terminate the deal but never refund the down payment we paid. Was not allowed to take out stuff from the truck. We also had brand new B&W gooseneck ball in bed, and we were not given opportunity to take that back. So all in total you supposed to refund the down payment and ball both. Never heard anything from the dealership. I am sure CFPB will intervene and help with the situation. If you make irresponsible comments and statements to customer what do you expect from customer thank you and welcome.
