No Customer Loyalty at Landers With Used Vehicles

I am a Disabled Veteran and live on a limited income.I can not afford the price of a new truck,but was looking for a low mileage used full size truck for ease of entry/exit due to my disabilities. I found a one owner 2013 GMC Sierra with just over 61K miles at Landers, and traded for it on 12/07/2020.The truck did not have any factory warranty remaining,but it did come with a short dealership warranty of anything/everything covered for the first 30 days,and the powertrain covered for and additional 30 days,or 60 days from the date of sale. I did not purchase an extended warranty due to the one-owner low mileage and condition of the truck,as well as my limited income.The truck performed great for the first 2 months,even though it never left the city I live in because I only travel when I need to--grocery store,paying bills,etc.On Feb.19,12 days after the dealership powertrain warranty went out,the oil pump failed,with me clocking less than 800 miles since buying it. This is a major engine failure and it cannot be driven until repaired. Before I go any further with this review,I will say that I'm in my 50's,have bought many new and used vehicles,and yes,I know buying a used vehicle without a warranty is taking a chance,but someitmes we are limted to what choices we have due to income. I contacted the dealership to see if they would help with the repairs at all,as the average cost of oil pump replacement is between $1200 and $1500.Basically I was told by Shawn,the general manager,"Sorry,parts fail...",and wasn't even offered a discount on the repair,even though Landers has a large,well equipped service department. To end this review and summarize,"no service after the sale" is common these days,but a major engine failure after only 2 months of local,low-mileage driving by a mature adult,and the selling dealership doesn't care enough about a customer who CHOSE THEIR DEALERSHIP TO DO BUSINESS WITH, to even offer a discounted repair?? And now I'm stuck with a financed,$23,000 paper weight/yard art until I can get it repaired on top of keeping up the monthly payments?? I can't review their new vehicle sales ,but I can say this--if you want to buy a used vehicle and can't afford to also buy an extended warranty,STAY AWAY FROM LANDERS CHEVROLET OF NORMAN,OKLAHOMA. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU,ONLY YOUR MONEY.

Took my truck in for an oil change and tire rotation. Staff was friendly and I was in and out in about an hour. They always take care of me even if I don't have an appointment for service!
