Transmission failure due to lack of service
I do not recommend Honda of Seattle for any car needs. I was a loyal customer of nearly 5 years and used to speak highly of this dealership. I purchased from them a new Honda Fit in 2015 and have taken my car back here for many services such as oil changes, new battery, brakes, tires, etc. I relied and trusted them to make sure my vehicle was always taken care of, and expected that they would provide full transparency if my car needed any attention. This was a big mistake. I did not go to school for automotive repair, I have minimal knowledge of cars, this is why I bought a new car and always returned to the dealership so I may pay the "experts" to care for my car. My transmission blew out at the end of 2019 at 111k miles. My warranty ended at 100k miles. Although I don't know much about cars, I consider myself a very responsible person, so how was this possible? The dealership told me it was my fault that the transmission failed because I didn't change the transmission fluid. I didn't even know that was a thing! Why didn't they tell me to change the transmission fluid? They said they did. I reread all my service receipts, one in particular from December 2018. It says "B13 Service declined." What is a B13 service? No one told me, the service technician at the time didn't explain what it was. There's no explanation of what that service is on the receipt. Apparently it means transmission fluid change, is what the dealership told me AFTER my transmission blew out a year later. I would've thought the expert service technicians would explain "hey, when's the last time you changed your transmission fluid? We recommend you do that now, or your transmission might fail down the line." But no, this is not how dealerships make money. It would be easier to NOT explain to a gullible and naive, yet loyal customer what a coded number service means. They offered me a remanufactured transmission, quoted at $5900 tax as a thanks for all the years of loyalty and purchasing a new car from them. Very irresponsible and dishonest business policy, and I would hate for someone else to have to go through this. I purchased a used transmission from AAMCO for $2900, and remain very disturbed and frustrated at Honda of Seattle for their lack of accountability.
Ambika, It is your responsibility to properly maintain your vehicle. At the time of purchase, your car comes with an owner's manual that lists what the required Maintenance Minder Codes stand for, so in the event that you are not able to service your vehicle at an Authorized Honda Dealership you would be an informed owner. As we explained to you in our response, we would not have been able to inform you of the 1st transmission service that was due because your 2015 Honda Fit was serviced at independent repair facilities from 10 to 78,807 miles. The average recommendation for the replacement of the transmission fluid is 30,000 - 50,000 miles, depending on your driving habits. When we saw your vehicle in December, 2018, it was at 94,576 miles. It was already due for the 2nd transmission fluid service, you declined. In October, 2019 when the vehicle was at 109,897 miles, we recommended replacing the transmission fluid again, you declined. Had the transmission failed while the vehicle was under 100,000 miles, the issue would still not have been covered under the power train warranty due to your lack of maintenance. Honda of Seattle will always do the right thing and stand by our technicians work and recommendations. We cannot and will not force any of our guests into performing services that they choose not to move forward with. We are not able to assist, however, when customers do not maintain their vehicle's properly.

Rude Manager with no guts
Really rude unprofessional staff, specially the manager he seems to have no professionalism and ethics...
Desperate to Make a Sale
Went to Honda of Seattle With the full intent to purchase a new car and was greeted by Gareth. Really like that all prices are on the windshield of every car. I was very upfront that I was looking and trying to decide what to buy and do not like being pressured to buy. I was very specific that if I selected to buy a Honda Gareth would be my salesperson. After visiting I have received numerous emails, text messages, phone calls from Gareth wanting to sell me a car. This high pressure follow up has made me decide to go elsewhere to purchase a Honda!

Great and quick service!
I dropped off my car for a regular service - oil change, tire rotation and got it back within the day. They also found and fixed a chip in my front windshield by working quickly with my insurance.

Nancy
Kyle PAtterson and another girl who works there ( sorry don't know her name) we're very good to me. The woman helped find my keys . Kyle was great at explaining what they would do, how much it would cost and how long it would take. I decided to wait in the nice waiting room and they finished early. Very pleasant experience an excellent service on my car!
