Dealer not someone to stand behind their sale

1.0
by Unhappy owner on Apr 30, 2022

Bought a mustang saleen back in December and thought we’re a good dealer. Never met in person live several states away stored car in KC until spring. When car arrived had motor issues and missing exhaust parts. Also missing items like original radial that was identified in their selling info. Contacted dealer to discuss and left message never received call back and was hung up on by sales person saying is my issue. Car has been in shop currently for over a month needed new exhaust, had vacuumed leak needed tuning and tune up,hood did not latch list goes on. My thoughts buyer be warned they sound sincere and helpful but once they have their money they do not care. Do not stand behind their product. I would give zero stars if able but had to leave one.

Great Place to Get a Used Car

5.0
by Cathy on Nov 03, 2021

I bought a car here in June and had a very good experience! It had a little problem but was still covered under factory warranty so it didn’t cost anything. No fault of Countryhill. I got the factory warranty too and their service department has been great! Car is great and I would definitely recommend them!

False advertising

1.3
by Joe on May 28, 2021

They advertise they will beat this dealer or that dealer but gave the lowest value offer out of five quotes I got for my vehicle. They refused to match or beat anyone they claimed they would. Even when shown quotes from those dealers to prove it. False advertising is not a great strategy for business. I you're looking to sell or just getting quotes save your time.

Rob Zuel helped us find the right car for the right price with NO hassle! (I was looking for a specific trim level of Kia Soul). We drove down from Iowa, and were in and out of there in record time. The car is wonderful and Rob is a jewel to work with!

Youngmother Update

1.0
by youngmother on Jul 15, 2020

After having the vehicle I bought for 6 months, I have had to buy a new alternator ( $1000) and it is currently in the shop for a cylinder misfire. This means I have spent $2000 in repairs on this vehicle since they would not pay for the water pump to be replaced when I first bought it. Now I'm at the 9 month mark and it is in a shop at a TRUSTED Dealership to see if the cylinder misfire is only that or if there is a bigger issue. Go to a big dealership that actually cares about the quality of vehicles they sell. I'm regretting my decision to buy from here. This is the second time I have tried to give smaller dealerships a chance and its not worth it. Spending the little extra to get a good vehicle from somewhere reliable! Contacting the Attorney Generals Office soon!

High fees and mechanical problems with vehicles

2.4
by LizS on Jun 13, 2020

Well first of all, everyone should know that you need to take the price that Country Hill advertises, and add $1,300 to it. They have a mandatory administrative and "protective surface coating" fee that they won't waive. Also, they didn't discuss gap insurance at all with me, but tried to tack it onto my loan paperwork, at a cost of almost $1,000. Next, my salesperson was nice, not too pushy, which I liked. But I was told both by him and the finance guy that their cars go through a significant inspection, and that they don't sell cars with problems. However, I could easily see that all of the tires were severely worn, so I did negotiate a little on that issue. Turns out though, when I took the car to my mechanic, we discovered that the tires were in fact dry-rotted and dangerous. They were the original tires on the vehicle, and had 69k miles on them. Plus, the coolant reservoir was almost empty, and the rear brakes were extremely worn, and leaking. So of course, the brake fluid reservoir was extremely low too. So much for their multi-point inspection. I would not buy from them again.

Terrible Experience

1.5
by vpankov on Jun 11, 2020

I bought a 2013 Cadillac ATS from Country Hill less than 3 months ago, and I feel like I have been taken advantage of by this place. They say that every car they sell undergoes thorough inspection, which is backed up by their own 3-month/3000 mile warranty. Shortly after I purchased the car, I started hearing clunking noise coming from the front suspension. I called their service department and scheduled an appointment. When I came, their mechanic didn’t even bother to lift the car and investigate the issue. Instead, he drove it around and said that he didn’t hear any noise. I then pressed on the frame of the car making it bounce, and one could clearly hear the front struts make a grinding noise to which the mechanic replied that it was normal. A few weeks later when it finally got hot outside, I cranked the AC for the first time, and it was also sounding louder than normal. So, I went to the service center again, shared my concerns with the same mechanic, and after pointing his flashlight at the cooling fan he said the same thing: there was nothing wrong with it and that I was welcome to get a second opinion from another shop, which I did. I dropped the car at the shop where I normally take my car to, and they informed me that the bushings on the front control arms were bad, front struts were leaking and the AC was low on freon, which meant that there was likely a leak in the cooling system. Luckily, I purchased the extended warranty which covered the cost of control arms and the AC, minus the deductible that still I had to pay out of my pocket, which was around $500. I was also informed that the clunking noise I was hearing was due to the worn struts which are not covered by the extended warranty and cost $1000 to replace. So, I got stuck with $1,500 worth of repairs on a car that rolled off the dealer’s lot less than 3 months ago. Every time I reached out to Country Hill, they were reluctant to address these issues. First, I was given the runaround by the mechanic, then, after I took the car to a different shop I got a hold of their manager, whose name was John, who said that if I had taken the car to them, I wouldn’t have had to pay the deductible and that it was normal for struts to leak and that they didn’t need to be replaced. He also added that I should give him a call if I had any other issues. On 6/11 I called Country Hill and asked to speak to John again, because I wanted to have the situation with struts resolved. He didn’t even call me back. So, If you are looking for a used car, SHOP ELSEWHERE.
