This is the kind of dealership that gives good dealerships and sales people a bad name. All they care about is selling the vehicle and absolutely nothing about customer satisfaction. I purchase a vehicle February 5t. It had higher mileage than I was looking for but I bought it because I was assured that it had been through a thorough inspection and their service department was excellent. Three days after I purchased the vehicle I took it to my local jeep dealer to put step bars on it and found out that it had a bent frame. Also was able to see that it has a significant leak in the rear differential and oil leaks from the engine. All very obvious just from putting it on the rack and looking under the vehicle. If this dealerships idea of a thorough inspection doesn’t include putting the vehicle on a rack and searching for significant leaks then I don’t think they know what an inspection is. Less than 1000 miles on the vehicle it starts to overheat so I take it back to my local dealer and find out that it’s got a cracked radiator, a cracked over flow Reservoir and the thermostat is bad. Cost $1100 to fix just so I could drive it. I have not addressed the differential or oil leaks yet. My temporary tag expired March 5 so I called to find out when I would get my plates. I have called and asked to speak with a manager 10 or 12 times over the last 3 1/2 months and every single time I’m told that the managers are busy with customers and they will call me right back. Not One manager has called. They sold me a crap vehicle that has broken down with less than 1000 miles on it. I don’t have tags and this dealership just does not care. Be careful of any pre-owned vehicle you purchase at the store. They will lie to you to say whatever they need to in order to sell you a car. After that you are on your own.

The vehicle the customer purchased was a used, modified, Jeep Wrangler. It had an aftermarket lift-kit and extra-large tires and wheels installed. It’s a 2018 that was driven by the previous owner at nearly 30,000 miles per year --- closing in on nearly 90,000 miles! It has as many miles as a vehicle that’s more than twice as old. This vehicle was given its full used car inspection service. Oil was changed and washer fluid added. We replaced wiper blades. A tire pressure sensor was changed. We replaced a broken windshield. We replaced an exhaust gasket and flange head. We replaced the catalytic converter. We replaced the TIMP detector and vapor canister. There is never anything that a service department can do to make a well-worn used vehicle brand new. We inspected the Wrangler and repaired or replaced what was indicated. Baker Jeep was very thorough – we did more than just the minimum. The Wrangler was even sold with a warranty from the dealership with the maximum coverage as required by law. The customer was offered an extended warranty plan that he opted not to purchase. If the customer had opted to purchase the additional warranty, his leaking radiator ---- that gave no indication of a future failure at the time of sale ---- could have been a covered repair. The customer complains of a bent frame. The CarFax (a copy of which the customer signed) shows No Structural Damage and No Accidents or Damage reported. The Wrangler drove just fine in our road test. Leaking and dripping gaskets and seals from various parts of a vehicle as the customer has described can be nothing more than typical and normal wear and tear. The usual mileage driven by most motorists is between 10,000 and 15,000 a year. The customer purchased a very used vehicle that was driven nearly twice that much! It stands to reason that components that are designed to wear out would do so sooner than later – including the radiator and thermostat. A car is like a light bulb – it’s good until it’s not! There is no way to predict when any component will fail. There is no mystery here, the Wrangler in question was driven a lot in a short period of time. Baker Jeep cannot be held responsible for normal component failure beyond our control due to extreme use. We truly regret the customer’s dilemma. We’re also sorry about the license plate situation. Every state’s DMV continues to be impacted by the Covid-19 issue. Baker Jeep has no control over the lack of service by state agencies and this customer is not alone in waiting for license plates. Our Service Manager says that he spoke to this customer – but if the customer says that no one did, that’s fine.

All of the excuses and grandstanding do not change the fact that you sold me a vehicle almost 4 months ago and I still do not have a license plate and not one manager has cared enough about a customer to simply just call me back as I was promised repeatedly over and over. I have not gotten a response from any manager until this. This proves my point that all you care about is the money and do not care about the customer or responding to a customer until it’s going to cause you a problem.

I love Jeeps and I love going to Baker Jeep to get my cars due to their customer service. I had the pleasure of being helped by Camille, who made my leasing experience super easy and extremely pleasant. Camille is knowledgeable, friendly, and very patient. I purchased a Jeep Wrangler Sahara in the summer of 2018. Konstantin Oginsky, the sales representative, was knowledgeable and friendly. He deserves 5 stars. The problem was with the finance manager, Darren DeMatteo. He sold me packages, which in retrospect, were good only for the dealership. First, he said I should clay bar the whole vehicle for $700, which would give me an extended warranty on the paint. He said the process takes an afternoon, but since I was in a hurry, he would have the team do it quickly. They were "done" in 20 minutes, and I didn't get to see what work they had completed. I later discovered the warranty is honored only at Baker Jeep, which is quite a distance from where I live, rendering it essentially useless. Even though I had cash ready, Darren pushed me to finance the vehicle for a minimum of 4 months, because my credit score was extremely high and that rating would balance out other customers who have lower credit scores, allowing Baker Jeep to offer more loans. In return, he would throw in free oil changes for 4 years under a Mopar Vehicle Protection Plan. It sounded like a good idea until (1) the loan interest in the first month was more than the total cost of the oil changes and (2) in May 2021 when I tried to use a free oil change, I saw that the plan provides only a $20 credit, leaving the balance to the customer. From what I understand, Darren no longer works at Baker Jeep, but for me the damage is already done, and I felt compelled to share my story.

Unfortunately, because your review came in anonymously, we really don't know how to handle this situation. As you point out, you made your purchase in 2018 - nearly three years ago. None of the employees you cite still work for Baker Jeep. Every customer to whom we owe parts or service is given a "We Owe" form. That form would be signed by the customer and by the manager. In your clutch of paperwork from when you bought your vehicle you should have your copy of that form. Anything that Baker would promise a customer would be listed on that form. If we promised you oil changes it would have been listed on that form and it would certainly be honored if you produced your copy. As far as your warranties go, while there are restrictions and exclusions as in every warranty, they should be good anywhere. We would like to help you - but we'd need to know who you are in order to help! Please reach out....

I actually called in last week before I left this review. The receptionist said that Ryan, the finance manager, would return my call before the end of the day on Friday. You have my name and number. It's Monday now, and I haven't received a call.

Ryan is out of the office today, Monday. If you left it with Ryan - then Ryan will reach back as soon as he is available. Thank you.

We would recommend anyone looking for a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep to go to Rob at Baker. Rob at Jeep was very knowledgeable about the vehicles. When we could not find what we were looking for, he built exactly what we we wanted, advising us along the way with his experience with Jeeps. Rob was also very helpful in taking care of everything with the buying process and followed up with us afterwards. Above all, Rob truly cared that we were happy.
