I was preapproved with my credit union and the lying salesman told me that their financing rates were competitive. They were three times higher than my credit union rate. Then they told me that they would use their financing as a place holder and to simply bring in payment from my credit union to replace their financing... another lie. I brought my check in and they said I would have to refinance their loan... total bait and switch and predatory lending technique. They are a den of venomous thieves.

My eye opening experience >> I thought I’d give Carmax and the whole online car buying thing a try Oh Wow!! After reserving a vehicle they send you a bunch of messages/ emails saying that the car is reserved just for you! Someone will call you 10 min later get all your info (I feel like it is how they build there database up info=money) they spend 20 min of your valuable time asking questions then they say oh whoops looks like someone else reserved the car (the same car that is reserved just for you?) they followed up by telling me there is a weak spot in there software system where they have to cancel your hold on the vehicle to do a transfer and in the 2 secs it takes to click the mouse someone else reserved it why cancel it? it’s 2021 how can you have such a flawed system ? This is the same system that I assume contains all of your personal info. Then they say let me check my database to see what else we have (do they even have the car I reserved?) then they offer me something twice the mileage not the same trim package and the same price as the one half the mileage. Ok what? Why would I do that?. I admit it they got me but never again and I hope if anything as a consumer YOU HEED THIS ADVICE and SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE. I was weary of the whole online car sales business model and now I know why as with everything on the internet there is a catch. I’m speechless of course this is solely my opinion though #lifelessons

buying a car with manufacturers' defect

April, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with purchase of our used Honda. Within a day or so discovered faulty VTC Actuator. We are from out of state and had to remain in area for repairs during the worst of the wildfires. But the amazing service manager Celine ( who was also covering jobs for absent co- workers) seemed to be able to make magic happen!!!! Within 30 minutes determined it was a repair that had to done at a local Honda dealer, arranged a ride to our RV for us, had our car taken to the Honda dealer. Knowing we could leave town and the awful smoke when the car was fixed she said she'd try her best to get our car back to us the next day which was a sat.( and her day off). Gave us her personal cell no. and set up in computer the details for our return ride to Carmax. Sat. was moving on but one call to Carmax for an update, they saw Celine had arranged everything for us to get our car on Sat. and BAM, magic happened!! Had our car within an hour, repairs completed, and we headed home to Florida. Yes, Carmax was great with fulfilling their warranty policy but it was Celine who put the efficient, professional, friendly face to implementing it. Thank-you Celine for being great at what you do!

My experience with CarMax was amazing! I bought my car in July 2020 and I love my car so so much!! I just have to say that Michael at the Beaverton location went above and beyond and was so friendly and relaxed! I felt like I was doing business with a friend! I have told so many people about going here and when it's time to trade in my car I will DEFINITELY be coming back here! They are totally up front and honest and aren't just in it for the money...I can tell Michael really enjoys helping people and takes pride in what he does here!! Oil Changed

I had my oil changed at the Beaverton, OR location on 09/20/19. As I arrived, Adam was waiting for me, walked up to my car and greeted me with a positive smile. Also, Adam was very attentive and answered my question of when my next oil change is due, scheduled my future oil change right away. I respect Adam's customer service.

I sold my car to Carmax for a fair and reasonable price and the entire transaction was handled smoothly. I paid to have a car shipped to the location, but ran into numerous problems, including some dishonesty by some of the sales staff. My complaints to the sales manager and to corporate customer service resulted in the problem being resolved. I feel I was treated fairly and with respect.

I made an appointment with a sales person who contacted me by phone in response to a website enquiry I made. The sales person was waiting for me when I arrived, took me out for a test drive and handled the sale thoroughly and professionally. There were one or two minor maintenance issues I wanted the service department to check before taking the car, so they kept it over the weekend. The service manager called on Monday to update status and kept me informed. I picked up the car on Tuesday and have been pleased with it. Price was what should be expected for the make, model and mileage according to Cars.com, NADA and Kelly Bluebook.

The facilities at Car Max are nice. The person who helped us was really nice and didn't resemble the average used car salesman. That being said, he didn't know ANYTHING about cars. He showed us the wrong car, didn't know anything about the details or basic information about the car, didn't know about the warranty options, and didn't really know what other cars were on the lot to use as comparisons. We came ready to buy and just wanted to see a certain type of cars around a certain mileage. We wanted to be directed and advised and left confused and disappointed. Didn't they want to sell a car?
