Bought an almost brand new 2021 Santa Fe.
Bought an almost brand new 2021 Santa Fe. It had crazy low mileage, somewhere around 100 or so miles on it when we drove it off the lot. 2 months later all the dash warning lights suddenly went off. And our warranty is useless. Even though it includes a rental, we can’t get the rental until the car has been diagnosed. Our car has now been there for over a week and today, after going by in person because they do not return phone calls, they said they don’t think they will be able to even diagnose it (let some get parts and perform labor) until hopefully next week.
Buyer Beware, Bad Customer Service
I bought My 2020 Hyundai Elantra Value Edition at Capitol Hyundai on October 10, 2020. I love it for the gas mileage and I wanted a tan interior ( rare).I was a very satisfied customer until today. I live three hours from the dealership I bought it from. It’s been a great car except that the valet key button is really touchy and I have occasionally (twice) lost the key fob in the car. Today I noticed it missing again today and couldn’t after two hours looking find it. SO I went for the spare, right. Well the plot thickens from here as the spare key Fob won’t work, no matter how many times I try. So after calling the local dealership on Sunday they tell me I need to have the car towed to them to reprogram the Key Fob. I called Capitol Hyundai and spoke with the sales manager and explained my situation that the alternate Key Fob isn’t working. I asked him if he could call the local dealership tomorrow and have them program it for me, as when I bought the car it should have come with two identical key Fobs and two identical valet keys. This isn’t the case as the alternate Valet key isn’t the same either. I asked him for understanding in my situation being so far away on a Sunday without the use of my car. He repeated replied “that it’s been to long for the dealership to help me as they don’t have a large drawer with all the extra keys.” I asked him again “Please make this right so that even after getting it towed to another dealership, can he asked them to reprogram the Key Fob for me without charge.” “I cannot ask another dealership to wave costs or discount it that is out of possibilities.” “I understand that you are upset but I can’t do anything.” Again I asked him to try and again he stated that “it’s been too long for them to help me” SO buyer be ware This dealership will not only not verify both key fobs work but wont help previous customers when a mistake has been made on their part.
We really like the IONIQ 5 safety features .
We like to thank your salesman Cody Blanchard for such a complete and detailed explanation guide on how our IONIQ 5 controls and features operate. Since this is our first purchase of a EV vehicle Cody took his time to go over every feature and controls and how the safety features operate. We like to thank Cody for giving us his time to explain all the controls and how the safety features function. Augie & Kitty Calija

I am so happy I found Tommy Tran at Capital Hyundai. I knew the exact vehicle I wanted and it was just a matter of finding a salesperson with who I could have a conversation and work with me on the price. In this market, most salespeople take it for granted and all they want is for you to "just come in." They speak like you are wasting their time. Sorry if you can't show me you're willing to have a conversation and listen to my questions, I don't want to do business with you. From the start, Tommy spoke like a friend who got my back and will do what he can to help a friend. I am from the Los Angeles area, so I plan to fly up there to pick up my vehicle; therefore, agreeing on a price is a MUST. I was nervous flying up as what if he changes the terms of our agreement after I few up there. Everything we agreed upon was exactly as is on paper when I arrived. He had most of the paperwork ready. I was in and out in about 1 hour. Esmi Alcaraz (Finance Director) was pleasant to work with also. He assured me that there were no hidden fees, showed me the numbers, and took the time to explain the extended warranty and the Pros and Cons. Most Finance Director will only present the Pros (I'm not too fond of a one-sided story). Hearing my concern and working with me on the warranty plan I would be comfortable with, I purchased an extended warranty. This is something I never purchase because I typically take pretty good care of my vehicles. Because Capital Hyundai has good, honest people, they earned my business.
A No Brainer Choice ... Seriously
I was in the market for a car and requested quotes from several dealers. Many of those dealers did not answer the question and instead asked me for my email and phone number as well as when I wanted to come in to test drive. Not helpful. Tommy was one of the folks who got it right - he replied with a quote for the car. He also asked further questions in order to try and find a better deal past the initial rebate for which I was eligible. Never once in our conversation was he pushing for me to hand over more contact information or asking me when I could test drive the car. Being able to go through the car buying process at my own pace and not feeling like I was getting pressured to do something was very refreshing! Then when I was ready to do the test drive, Tommy got me set up with Steven. When I showed up, Steven simply handed me the key to a test car and let me drive it around for a bit on my own. I particularly appreciated this approach to test driving, as opposed to having somebody in the passenger seat next to me observing and blasting me with all the features of the car (and silently judging my rusty clutch work) because I could go at my own pace and focus 100% of my attention on the experience of the car and assessing if it was a good fit for me. When it came time to doing the purchase, Steven was down to earth and explained all the options that were on the table; never once was he pushy or tried to get me to do something a specific way. Again, something I found really refreshing based on my less than fantastic past experiences with other dealers. Tommy and Steven made my car buying experience super easy, pleasurable, and truly a No Brainer. I felt like I was in control throughout every step of the process, and not once did I ever feel pressured or bullied into certain choices. Thank you, Tommy and Steven, for making my car buying an A+ experience!

BAIT AND SWITCH. These people are unscrupulous -- I was provided with a written quote for a lease, including MSRP, their Sales Price, Monthly lease payments, and the Residual Value of the car in question -- sent to me via email by salesman, Cody Blanchard -- a brown-nosing incompetent who eventually admitted he'd "only been working there seven months, and didn't know anything about leasing." The quote was again confirmed, both verbally and in writing, upon my arrival at the dealership to finalize the leasing of the car -- by the sales manager, Luis Vasquez, whom we might assume knows something about leasing. I spent approximately $100 in travel costs and an entire 10-hour day, including travel time and three hours at the dealership "finalizing the paperwork," until the finance manager finally revealed that he was not going to honor the quote, and was bumping up the residual value (the cost of the car if you want purchase it at the end of the lease) by over $1,000. Cody is an idiot, and, whenever he refused to honor quotes he'd given me over the phone, I pressed him, and showed him my notes on what he'd told me (including amounts as critical as the sales price, the msrp, and the monthly lease payment, as well as extras, such as the proffered 40% discount on a cargo cover, for instance), would backtrack and say that he "doesn't know anything about prices, and any price he quoted me was only an estimate." (He'd quoted me three different monthly payments on three different phone calls, until I finally pinned him down and said if he wanted to lease me the car for the first amount he quoted, I'd come in and give him a check.) He's all about being your friend and "helping you," but in the end, is not a man of his word. Nor is Luis, the sales manager. Don't trust a thing these people tell you -- they are not, under any circumstances, to be trusted! I would never, ever, do business with this company again!
