After complaining about the bait-and-switch tricks with used cars, we got a call from the General Manager, Scott Kimbrough. He apologized for what he called our "hellish" experience and agreed to sell us the vehicle for the advertised price. The car was removed from inventory, and I was told to come pick it up on Monday morning. However, when we went to pick up the car on Monday, nobody knew what we were talking about, and they eventually claimed that the vehicle was sold as the last deal done on Saturday night. Even as car dealerships go, these guys are the worst - just awful from top to bottom. They deserve every one of the dozens of 1-star reviews below, and you should not have anything to do with them.

Glenn, Thank you for your review. We put high importance upon providing each customer with top notch service. To begin, we apologize if we failed to properly communicate Hyundai's complimentary maintenance program. It provides for complimentary oil change intervals based on normal driving conditions as outlined in the vehicle owners' manual. Houston is considered an extreme driving climate, which means your next oil change will be complimentary under the Hyundai guidelines. Regarding the extra time required for your visit, your reservation was for oil change only. Additional services beyond the oil change added at the time of the visit require additional time. If we documented your oil change appointment improperly, we again apologize. Our Service Manager. Kohl Young has reached out to you to determine the best way forward to retain a loyal customer. You may also contact him directly at email@example.com. Thank you again for your business.
Looked at 2009 Chevy Colorado.
Looked at 2009 Chevy Colorado. NADA was $8800. They had lowered price online to $10800. I figured not bad in this market. Drove and liked. First price they came back with was with a $5000 addition for market . Don't trust prices they advertise on internet, it's just to get you there
Thanks so much for everything you did
Arin was great helped me get approved on my 2020 Tacoma. We love it thanks a lot you really made it fun thanks again Arin
That pesky market adjustment
Beware of the $4000 market adjustment. It's there. It's not included in their advertising and online pricing. And if you call, text or online chat, they will avoid confirming this additional cost. In fact, they just stop answering texts altogether. They are not being "upfront and transparent", so you lose points on the honesty scale. It's not really a bait and switch, more like an "unfortunate oversight" when it comes to accurate representation of their prices. It's funny how auto dealers wonder why they are always seen as untrustworthy varmints by the general public. Stop trying to deceive us.
Sales reps Arin and Tyler were the best!
Sales reps Arin and Tyler were the best! Went in wanting one car and drove it but then Arin suggested I drive a SantaFe and Tucson before ai decided. She and Tyler team tagged me making sure I was not sitting waisting time. Credit manager was awesome drove out in a new Tucson. Arrived at around 1:00 pm and drove out at 4:30pm. U traded nna Buick LaCrosse that is in great condition so if you are interested n the market for a used car, go down and ask for Tyler or Arin and they will hook you up!
Thanks to all at BigStar
I cannot recommend this dealership.
I cannot recommend this dealership. Based on our experience, they are actively engaging in bait and switch tactics and other deceptive advertising. The vehicle we were interested in was clearly advertised at one price, without any asterisks or fine print, and the adverstisements even included estimates of monthly payments based on the advertised price. We also had a TrueCar deal showing the "amount due at signing" based on the advertised price. However, after we vistied the dealership and test drove the vehicle, we were told for the first time that the dealership was addiing a $4000 "market adjustment" to the price of all used cars. We had no prior notice of this $4000 add-on charge. It wasn't mentioned in any online advertisements and was completely inconsistent with the TrueCar "deal" sent to us. We've tried to get some explanation from the dealership for why they are not honoring the advertised price and the TrueCar deal sent to us, but thus far, we've only been given the run-around, and it appears pretty obvious that no one at the dealership wants to try and explain this obvious problem.
enkramer, thank you for your review. We always want our customers to feel that they are treated in a transparent & trustworthy manner. I am very sorry if you feel your experience did not align with that. It appears as though my team did not bring me your offer to purchase, if you had made one. If that had occured, I am confident you would have driven away as a happy customer. Please feel free to reach out to me directly. Thank you. Scott Kimbrough, General Manager, firstname.lastname@example.org
Mr. Kimbrough, this is not complicated. Big Star Hyuandi advertised the vehicle at $36,888 and aggressively marketed that price through many third-party web sites, including TrueCar. In providing price information to TrueCar, you did not disclose any market adjustments or non-optional dealer-added packages. I walked into Big Star Hyundai with a TrueCar "deal" clearly stating the "amount due at signing" (less TT&L), and Big Star Hyundai then attempted to increase the price by $4,000 (since reduced by a sales manager to $3,000). There is no "transparent" or "trustworthy" explanation for this conduct.

Final Update: They made up for the confusion and didnt budge to get to the numbers we could agree on. Out of all the dealerships I went that sold Hyundai's, this is the dealership I would recommend. they care about Customer Service especially Scott the GM Update #2 3 Stars: We came to a final conclusion & price but car isnt on the lot yet. Will update rating once everything is completed. UPDATE 3/30/21: Manager called me and they had made an error on their end and removed that car that no longer is on the lot Original Post 1 Star: READ PLEASE. If they ask you to come in without giving you info on the car (Vin or stock number) ASK FIRST. Almost went in to get a better OTD off from another dealership and I did some my research on my end to find out the Elantra they have is a SALVAGE TITLE. The audacity to not tell me is wrong and bad business. I left a voicemail for the GM. I turned the down an offer because they said they can do better.

I had a 12:30pm appt to test drive a specific vehicle we discussed earlier in the morning. At 12:45 the sales person finally greeted me stating she was with another client so would have another person handle my test drive she told him all the info was in the computer associate with my phone number. He didn’t look. Asked me what I was interested in & I explained the appt for the specific vehicle. He informed me there was no trim package I was describing. I explained to him it was a 2019 car…he assumed I was there for a new vehicle. Again, never checked the available information. He went to get the keys and told me the vehicle had been loaned to someone and want available to drive, but I could still buy it. Huh? Really? It may have been exactly what I was seeking but they won’t get my money. Sales person was Erik.
Mhcsmom, Thank you for your review. We apologize that you feel that you did not receive the top-notch treatment that all our guests deserve. Feel free to reach out to me directly to discuss. Scott Kimbrough, General Manager, email@example.com.
This place is terrible.
This place is terrible. I had an appointment to test drive a car. Waited over 30 minutes and no one came over so I left. Went back a few days later because I was actually interested in the car. It had a flat so I made another appointment to come back and they were supposed to have it ready for me to test drive. When I went for the second appointment, not only was the car not ready, they had me down to test drive a completely different car. And I was essentially told they use bait and switch tactics. I believe they never had any intention of trying to sell me the car. I explained where I wanted my payments to be and I guess my business wasn't worth their time. They never quoted me a real price because according the person I spoke with they purposely advertise their vehicles at the lowest market price in order to get people in the door. They have no intention of actually selling the vehicles at the advertised price. They have a disclaimer about a "market adjustment" so I guess that makes it legal? Regardless, they never offered me an actual price, gave me a trade-in value or made any effort whatsoever. I can only assume they have so much business that mine wasn't important to them at all. Please don't waste your time here. I tried to give them a second chance and shame on me for doing so.
