No hassle.
Communication was the best it was done over the phone. I was away in another state purchasing a car for my daughter was easy hassle free. Best service.

Don't go if you don't want dealership addons
Overall, my time here was just OK. Ramon Malave-Santiago was a good point of contact talk to and made my time here feel comfortable. But he didn't exactly talk me through the actual details of cars and whatnot. Scot Pleski on the other hand was the one to talk me through which cars are available as well as the car's features. He was ok to talk to, but for being a self-proclaimed "no pressure dealership", there was definitely pressure in selling me crap dealership addons like the "desert protection" and the "clear bra". When I asked if those could be removed (since I'm not interested in those features), they didn't give me a clear yes or no answer at first. Scot deflected my question and said "well most people get these addons because they see value in it" (or something similar along these lines). I personally do not see any value in these, and I am not "most people", so I don't know why I couldn't just get a simple yes/no answer. Although this dealership does not charge an addendum or any other arbitrary markup on vehicles that most dealerships do, the fact that this "desert protection package" is mandatory tells me otherwise. Berge Toyota claims to sell addons that add value to the vehicle, but if I do not see any value in it, does it increase the value of the vehicle to me? No. of course not. Because these features were mandatory, I chose to bring my business and my money somewhere else. I get that there are "shortages" and whatnot. I don't care about those excuses. All I wanted to do was to buy a vehicle and not be sold on extra dealership addons that I do not want. I was told that these vehicles sell quickly and often before they reach the lot. The fact that the salespeople had no problem with me walking out or calling me back right away shows that Berge Toyota simply values profit and addons rather than selling cars to people who need cars. I get that the purpose of a business is to make profit, but I argue that a good business tries to establish good relations with customers in hopes of them being repeat customers. I would happily be a repeat customer if my wants/needs for the vehicle were treated with respect, but unfortunately that did not happen to me today. To make my experience better, it would be nice if I could have a clear simple option to just buy the vehicle at a fair market price+fees without any of the extra crap the dealer wants to sell me. I'm not a stingy person. I'm not trying to negotiate well below MSRP as long as my buying experience is smooth and comfortable It'll make for a very quick, smooth transaction that would leave me a better impression of Berge Toyota and dealerships in general. After driving 40 minutes home, I got a call from customer service. They mentioned that they'd be willing to take off the clear bra but keep the desert protection package as it was mandatory. I declined because of course I do not see value in that, but they did mention that they'd contact me if I can get a vehicle without any dealership added profit makers. I personally do not feel comfortable or optimistic about this, but if I am able to simply get the car as-is without any dealership "added value" features, then I will rescind my negative reviews of this place and be a happy customer. Today was a disappointing waste of my long weekend. Overall, my experience is rated 2 stars. This dealership isn't scummy and actually is transparent about the components that make up the final price, but I find it appalling that they have mandatory addons that are effectively an arbitrary markup in disguise.

While the salesman was a 5 star the state of the market
While the salesman was a 5 star the state of the market is very disappointing, the web site directs you to "build" a car, not telling you there is ZERO chance you will get that build. As I am interested in a hybrid, there was NO car available, so not only can I not get my build, I can't get ANY car of the type I want without waiting for the chance that they might get one in their next allocation, assuming there are not many people waiting ahead of me. It is as if Toyota does not want me to purchase one of their cars. This is the third time since 2014, i have not been able to get a car I wanted from Toyota, i start trying to buy one, but they just do not have any to sell.
