Triumph TR6: The end of an era

by 50Caddy on Jan 14, 2018

The TR6 has a stiff clutch, stiff steering, stiff suspension, a big six cylinder engine with twin carburetors, a great exhaust note, lots of low-end torque for fast acceleration from low RPM's, big wheels and tires, a convertible top and fabulous styling. It was, and still is, the perfect traditional British sportscar for the true enthusiast. I have owned mine for 45 years. It is, as ever, a joy to behold! My car has a factory-authorized but dealer-installed built-in air conditioner for warm Miami weather or whenever top-down motoring was not practical.

Fun summer car

by cam on May 21, 2017

This car is great for cruising around by the beach in nice weather. Car sounds good, 4 speed feels mechanical. Everything about this car is a blast, besides the age.

Very fun car to drive

by TR6 EXPERT on Mar 18, 2011

These are a $7500 car when in the right color & are in good driver condition. They're not selling for the $12-$15k like everybody thinks they are. This car is one of the least desirable colors & has rust problems. All the fenders are going to have to come off, striped down, rust removed, hopefully there's no frame rust & painted one of the original red or blue colors. Its not cheap to do that kind of work. The interior needs about $1000 of work for new door panels & proper seat covers & if the engine bearings werent replaced at 58k,that will need to be done. Also all the rubber bushings will need replaced if they havent been done yet.Its a $3-4k car for someone that likes to work on & restore cars.
